• The sustainable finance market has seen a steady development in the last decade, experiencing a phase of exponential growth. The increasing severity, frequency and impacts of climate change have put more pressure on financial institutions to recognize their role in catalysing a more sustainable and low-carbon future. The Alliance for Green Commercial Banks (the Alliance), in partnership with Crédit Agricole CIB, is launching its first thought leadership paper of its sustainable finance white paper series on October 10th, 2023. The paper expounds a ‘five-step structure’ in which Crédit Agricole CIB adopts to set up the governance in its transition towards green banking, as well as supports clients in their transition journey. The paper also discusses the core elements and the key practices of green banking, drawing references from international advocacy groups, regulatory guidelines, and experiences of market leaders. The launch event will include a discussion with speakers from Crédit Agricole CIB, IFC, and BDO Unibank.
