This report highlights how the rapid global growth of green technologies is creating new economic opportunities, particularly for low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). While high-income countries still lead in green exports, LMICs are gaining ground—especially in upstream innovation such as research and patenting. Green innovations from LMICs are often high-quality but underfunded, pointing to a strong case for targeted investment and policy support. The report calls for tailored strategies to unlock local innovation potential and foster sustainable growth.
